About the event
Off & Running (AKA the Fun Run) is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the J.J. Hill PTO. It's how we pull in the money that provides educational tools for our classrooms, defrays the cost of field trips for students in need, and creates fun community events that keep families connected to our school.
How do we raise the money?
We collect donations from J.J. Hill parents and local businesses, but the biggest source of revenue is the money our students collect from their extended families, neighbors and friends. It's a great way for students to build confidence and communication skills, and it's also a good excuse to meet the neighbors and connect with aunts, uncles and grandparents.

Our goal this year is for each student to raise $150.

That's just 15 donations of $10.

Sounds great! How can I help?

  1. Get Registered: Register your children using our online portal. This will allow students to ask for online credit card donations using email, Facebook or other social media. The site also allows your children to track their progress and see how much their classroom has raised, as well as the school overall.  If you participated last year, your username and password should still work (assuming you remember them!)

  2. Add your student(s):  Once you've registered on the site, click the ‘Add Student’ button in the upper right corner of the screen. If you participated last year, you just need to update your child's information (grade, teacher name, photo, etc.)

  3. Help your student promote their page: the portal will give you link to share the student’s profile to Facebook, Twitter, email or wherever your friends and family congregate online. The link is in the upper right corner of each student's page.

  4. Get creative: Help your student dream up ways to get friends and family to sponsor them for their run. Students have created videos, written letters to friends and family, knocked on doors, and even made phone calls.

  5. Volunteer: It takes a lot of volunteers to pull of this event. Sign up here if you want to help out.

  6. Attend Off and Running: The run will happen Thursday, October 25th during the school day. Grade and class times will be posted on our website as soon as they are finalized. Come cheer on your student, other students and check out our sponsors.

What if people want donate by cash or check?

That's great. Just drop off cash/check donations at the J.J. Hill school office. We'll pick them up regularly and enter them into the system so they get counted toward the goal. Make sure to indicate the student's name along with the donation so your child and their teacher get credit!


Their commitment to JJ Hill is helping ensure we get to keep the funds we raise.
